edamame

If you haven't tried edamame (soy beans) before they are super yummy. We've been eating them at Japanese restaurants for years but just recently found them in the supermarket freezer. Yummo! #1 not so keen (he does have a nasty cold though) but #2 gobbled them up.

Got the RAST results back and hurrah there's no longer any peanut allergy to speak of! Although we're not rushing out to push any peanut butter down his throat we do intend to let him have some one day soon. Apparently it's best to try it on a weekday morning (just in case) or while you're at the doctor's for something else!

The dairy allergy is still serious and we're just expecting that it will be around for a long time (if not forever). I think he'll be retested sometime before he starts school.

Although there seems to be dairy in so many things, we have learnt to find substitutes and cook a lot of stuff from scratch. And it's not like he's wasting away!! Both boys hopped on the doctor's scales and were 20.7kg each (exactly the same). Crazy!  I hope #1 recovers from his cold pretty quickly. After three days off from suspected pox last week (which it wasn't), then the weekend and today off, he's needing some kindy time! I'm needing some time too!
