Okay I get that I'm totally showing off here but oh my goodness the bread has gone from good to amazing!

I've been making the sourdough for a year now and only just recently am I feeling like I understand it. Well I'm not sure I understand it exactly, but I've made a few changes which are working really well.
It's all thanks to this fantastic book (which I may just have to buy).
The bread has lovely (bubbly) crusts on it now which I think may be from the water sprayed on before baking, to be honest though it could be something else.

That bread looks amazing! I just had a little look at the book on Book Depository :) It's one thing I'll miss about Switzerland...all the amazing bread. I've heard a lot about making sourdough...I'd like to give that a try.
I'm impressed. I know how good this bread is and look forward to tasting some next weekend.

That's not showing off, that's demonstrating your talent! That bread looks freaking amazing... yum yum...
Ooh, I've been making my sourdough from that book too... although lately I've been lazy and haven't done all the steaming/spraying stuff. It still tastes good! But yours looks super-good.
Yum Meg- that bread looks delicious!! I think you should set up selling bread at your front gate! How do you go about getting the starter?? Sam xx
Amazing, amazing!
We are using and addoring that book too.
The results speak (and smell and taste) for themselves.
